Thank you for showing an interest in taking part in a short patient survey on a new product which is now available within the UK. This survey is a joint collaborative project between the Mouth Cancer Foundation and SpePharm UK Ltd. SpePharm UK is responsible for the marketing and distribution of Xerotin, which is a new artificial saliva.
What is the new product?
Xerotin is a new effective treatment for dry mouth which is suitable for a wide range of patients. Xerotin is a ready to use mouth spray, is provided in 100ml bottle and is available on prescription or can be purchased via a retail pharmacy. Xerotin has the following qualities:-
Provides relief from dry mouth by mimicking normal saliva and moistens the mouth, tongue and throat
Is pH neutral which means that it is tooth friendly
Contains no animinal derivatives – pig or cow
Is gluten free
Is saccharose free (no sugar)
Is this product available in the UK?
Yes Xerotin is licensed and available on NHS prescription within the UK
What does taking part in this patient survey involve?
If you agree to take part in this survey you will sent the following:-
A week's supply of Xerotin
Guidance on how to take this product
A short questionnaire to complete, following your use of Xerotin
A reply paid envelope for you to post back your completed questionnaire
Will my involvement in the survey be kept confidential?
Absolutely, your personal details will be held by the Mouth Cancer Foundation only and SpePharm UK Ltd will have no access to this information.
Why are Mouth Cancer Foundation conducting this survey?
It is part of our effort to make available samples of new products for trial and evaluation by our members. For every questionnaire completed and returned, the Mouth Cancer Foundation willl receive a donation of £5.00 to the Mouth Cancer Foundation from SpePharm UK Ltd.
