Hi all fell a bit guilty not having been posting for a while but lots have happened. I am now in great form so can say there is life after the big "C". It was a hard slog for the first 8 months but lifes got better. Still not able to eat lots of foods do things like play golf, my right arm not much good. However the good points are my life is much fuller now, before "C" i was a work-aholic now you could say I am a holiday-holic. There is always something I can eat be it only soup suprising how you can live on soup for a week. But really that's the exception rarther than the rule.
Cheers Maurice

Today is the anniversary of the start of my chemo/radiation treatment. Tomorrow is the anniversary of my joining this very select website, and is also my 49th birthday. I never thought I would still be here this time last year!
But I am, fit getting fat, noisy, and almost back to my old self. Just a few wee side effects - nothing compared to some of you wonderful people.
A HUGE THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR HELPING ME THRO THE LAST YEAR.
(ps please keep my age to yourselves it can be our little secret!)
Sue

There arent enough words to describe you but these are just a starter. Take care.

SmilerHi everyone, at the end of November, it will be two years since my two ops, and when I look back to how I was a year ago, I have made quite a lot of progress, am eating much better, and not so tired. I have noticed that the cold weather has made my neck very tight, and inside throat quite sore, so I am back to scarves Footinmouth Big Bear Healing Hugs to you all out there,Garance

Hi gang. Hope everybody is ok. Im feeling fine and hoping that the summer will be a lovely one. Its been 19 months now since my operation and the time has just flown over. Im due to see my consultant on the 15th March and everyday im constantly looking in mouth and feeling my neck. Everyday at some point I think of how I got mouth cancer (Silly I Know)and I cant help it.I occasionally get a dull ache in my left shoulder and my arm gets itchy but I dont scratch it. Hope to hear from you soon.

Best Wishes and Big Bear Hugs

Hi russ, i think i had similar treatment to you for tongue cancer, although i had my right side of my tongue removed and replaced with flap. i am 5 weeks post radio and feel great the best i have felt since middle of September last year, i wish i could bottle the feeling as i am sure it will wear off. Also like you i am looking forward to nice summer, i am really looking forward to the light nights i did not think i would see them again so this will be a real treat for me. How do you get on with eating ? I am not doing too bad not sure how well i will eat in future but does not seem to worry me too much just get frustrated when i can not eat something.
