Hi Paul.

Well as you know I've no problem with my teeth (no teeth). But taste, well as I think I've mentioned before I can differentiate betweem sweet and sour, and maybe vague hints of some other things. I was pre-warned about this but I can't remember whether it's due to surgery or radiotherapy - maybe both?

Dry mouth, well when I was discharged I was given a spray the name of the package was """A.S. Saliva Orthana""". It worked like a dream for me, thankfully I didn't need to use it much after December 2002.

I'm sure you'll get better advice from people who've had treatment closer to yours than that which I had.

Hiya paul....heathrow steve here. catch you for a chat shortly. Anyway.....mouth sprays. Of the many iv'e tried and none are much good, the most pleasant is GLANDOSANE synthetic saliva, which comes in a 50ml spray, available in lemon or peppermint flavours. Handy to carry, and pleasant tasting. available on prescription.

Biotine is the greatest. Everyone who has had radiation should try it,, It was great for me, I haven't had radiation since october. No biggie for me tho. I didn't have that many side effects this time as I did the first time. Prob because everything was killed the first time around. This time tho I have salivia. I know what you are thinking but I do. I carry a rag with me, I drool like a newborn baby at times. Good luck with it all. Always, Vicki

I just received my samples yesterday and am impressed with the moister feeling in my mouth.
In particular I like the toothapaste that reminds me of the taste of the litle round tins of dry pepsodent you could once buy.

The chewing gum certainly provided some moisture and did not stick to my crowns.I have yet to try the mouthwash and the gel so will let you know later.

They sent an order form with it and the prices are not excessive but I have been wondering if Vinod knows if this can be prescribed by the NHS by GPs - which is the best way when you have an annual or free prescription.

Paul I still have dryness but this varies from day to day. Dryness is worse in the morning and my mouth is moister after drinking tea all day.

For this reason I prefer kissing after teatime!!
Before teatime - pecks only!

I absolutely hate Glandosane. Initially it really is like having someone else's cold spit in your mouth. I think my dislike of it was coloured by the first time I used it when in hospital and not being myself I directed it my mouth only to have misdirected it to hit my cheek and this teaspoon of slimey stuff just slithered down my cheek. It felt like I'd been spat at. It certainly put me off. I hated the lemon flavoured stuff even more than the natural.
