Thanks for that post Dr Joshi - very reassuring for someone like me who had a tumor in early stages in my tonsil and had the treatment recomended in the article. I have been scared of dying still but in the last week I have felt much more positive and this article has helped. The cancer also came out in my lymph nodes with 1 lump so I had a neck dissection and it hadn't spread. Along with the tonsil being removed, radiotherapy and chemo (though I noticed the article said chemo is used in cases where the cancer is more advanced - I know mine was only 1cm so very small and couldn't be found after going in all the different machines, but I know they were treating me aggresivly to cure me). So after all that I better live!

Hi everyone!
It has been such a long time since I visited this marvellous forum.

I am now 2 years post surgery and my surgeon says its a good milestone. Great news!
I have moved house and my new career as a driving instructor has gone from strength to strength.
I am now Lady Captain of the golf club and enjoying life to the full.
I still don't taste anything and my eating can still be a bit tricky-sandwiches a real nono!
Still totally numb down left side of face to my upper arm. But HEY I SURVIVED!
Sorry to hear about Brenda -she was the first person to reply to my worrying early questions.
Lots of new names on the forum-hope you are all smiling!
Happy Days!
