Hi Everyone,
Was in St Luke's Dublin last Thursday for my sixth checkup since radiotherapy treatment ended last July. Got the all clear for the throat tumor which was such a relief but not able to relax just yet. Been in pain most of this year and since February the pains have spread and intensified in my neck, ear, eye and nose area, all on the left side where the original cancer was. I have been seeing my local GP and the pain specialists at the hospital. They have prescribed different medications which have helped reduce some of the pain. On Thursday I was seen by some other staff and they arranged for a new CT scan for Friday morning. So here I am waiting to get results of this scan which should be early next week. I am so tired and very weak. I have also been struggling with constipation because of the changing med's and last Sunday caught a bug and ended up with diarrhea for three days. Oh what wonderful fun we have! Would not miss it for the world because it's better than the alternative. At this rate I might need a wheelchair for the 10K walk but I will get there some how. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone. Take care and best regards Ken One Year Survivor |

Hi Ken
I thought you'd run off somewhere. So pleased to hear you have the almost all clear. Don't you just love living on the edge????!!!! I'm prepared to give you a bit of a push through the walk if you'r in a wheelchair (heaven knows I'll need all the help I can get to last the distance!) Cheers Deborah |

Hi,
Friday's scan is clear. So, I am one year clear which is really amazing and I am so grateful. Might find the strength later to have some cake with a cup of tea. Right now feel like I have been run over by a train and I just want to sleep ....... This journey really is an emotional roller coaster. regards Ken One Year Survivor |

Howdy Ken
Absolutely fabulous news. I'm really happy for you but understand fully how exhauste/drained/relieved etc etc etc you feel. This journey is a bitch to say the very least. Chin up. Get amongst that cake ~ seems a bit of a waste of cook cake to combine it with tea though. Cheers Deborah |

...... actually make that 'good' cake, not 'cook' cake.
G'night |
