Thank you Mimi,

Well I start Cisplatin monday! Oh the joy. I can honestly say I was diagnosed a year and five months ago! Second diagnoses was November 12th 09! And third diagnoses April 5th 2010! Wow I just don't get it. I am still having lots of pain in my left leg but because the hip bone itself doesn't hurt they are not going to do radiation. I hurt more in the buttock and down the leg mid thigh above the knee and then on down the side of the calf where I have had tendone trouble before. I am on percocet but not much relief. I don't like being dizzy or sleepy especially being alone with the kids so I only try to take it at night and Ibuprofen during the day. I have been told I will be bringing my chemo home in a fanny pack type thing so this will be different with the kids. I have been outside as much as possible this week especially since the oldest has this week off school. I am hoping I am not sick from this treatment! It makes it too tough to help with the kids and the steroids make me so annoyed with them. I don't get mean to the hubby just real testy with the kids.
But it makes me wonder if I am not sick then maybe it isn't working like the last one.

Thanks again

Pam

sorry for all you are going thru. are you sure you don't have a sciattic nerve problem in the hip. mine went down from my left buttock down to my big toe. after several days of 1 to 2 hours a nite of sleep i went for 36 hours with no sleep and headed to the emergency room. i had hydrocodene at home and it did no good. doc gave me a souped up version of it and it helped a little and then i finally go to the pain clinic for a painful inection into the hip which was supposed to last 2 to 6 months. it lasted 2 days. i was scheduled for another injection but just so happened i was scheduled to see physical med doc and he did a bmp test on me and cancelled the injection since it would not help. so happy he spared me the pain of another hip injection. got me on a TENS machine + physical theraphy. about 2 or 3 weeks ago i put the cane down and am just hobbling around now. ankle & leg getting stronger & pain is fading..... finishing almost 4 months of this. thank heaven for the physical med doc... even now i cringe when i think that hip injection..... yikes!

MOTB (Pam),

I'm afraid that your response as well as Pete 228's might be lost in my Survivor thread.

Please please start a new thread in another forum to advise everyone about your current status so that you can get the advice and encouragement that you deserve. I cannot imagine how I would have coped if this had happened to me at such a young age with small children.

You are an extraordinary Mom and my heart goes out to you. Take care, my friend.

Mimi
