Hi everybody!
I've made it to the 5 year mark and Flappy is still going strong. I do have the occasional paresthetic (-esic?) event, but that's nerve endings for you. I have an appointment with my doc on 10 Feb (oddly enough, my release date back in '05) and it should go well. Happy happy joy joy! Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos! |

Congradulations Julia. It must be a great feeling for you. Does it seem like 5 years? When I first started out I wondered if I would see the next day and for me it's just over 4 years ad getting better every day. I'm really glad for you.

Hi Joan
That's a very good question. Sometimes it seems like it was just yesterday, and other times thoughts of "I had WHAT?" go through my mind. Congrats to you for making it 4 years. Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos! |

Well done Julia,
I am sure you now feel you are living pretty much a normal and carefree life. And that is celebration enough. All the best tony k |

Hi Tony
Pretty much but not totally. I have a tendency to contact my doctor if something feels awry. Fortunately, Dr. Chepeha is very understanding and helpful. The nerve endings in my flap still act up from time to time, but I can live with that. Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos! |

Hello Julia,
My first 2 years on where very very scary.Lots of issues and false alarms. After 2 years my neck lymphs on the opposite side to the neck dissection went into overdrive - I was convinced they were fighting something very severe. And I think they were! My consultant was excellent and shipped me of down south for a CT PET scan, whole body - within a week or so of my visit. It showed me to be clear and this helped my mental attitude immensely. It makes it so much easier to cope with day to day coldsand throat infections etc. Most things I can take in my stride. Good luck to you tony k |
