I was diagnosed with Tonsil and neck node cancer in October 07. It came as quite a shock even though I had a sore throat that would come and go. My doctor thought it was a lupus flare as I have lupus too. So I had Radiation (30 treatments) , Chemotherapy, and a peg tube put in. The whole process was painful and terrifying. But things are better. The pain is much less now. My energy and spirits are good. I can eat enough to only need two cans of feed a night. The best news is that my cat scan showed nothing glowing so I am cancer free. I still have to have a check up every six weeks to be sure it doersn't come back but I feel hopeful and fortunate.

Hi Laurel, welcome to the club. Sounds like you've been through it but are coming out the other side. I never had a peg or chemo thank god but plenty on here have. Good luck on the next checkup. Hagg.

Laurel, Sounds like your doing fantastic! I just finished up the routine about 3 weeks ago, and although I'm not eating yet orally, I'm just glad things are looking up.

Best of wishes to you and keep us updated,

Cricket Smiler

Thanks everybody. Glad to hear there are others doing well and recovering. Hey Cricket, I thought I'd never be able to eat again. Everything was burning my tongue and food stuck in my throat. Everything tasted horrible. But slowly, very slowly, I am able to eat more. Foods are tasting a little better now and swollowing is much easier. So be patient, progress is slow, but happens.
