Hi and scared

I am a 34 yr old woman who just found a lump in the back of my throat. It is about the size of a kidney bean and is behind my uvula to the left. I am so scared I am almost in a panic. I saw a Dr and he told me not to worry about it but to have an ENT check it out. But it just looked like some extra tissue. It is fleshy and painless and I am afraid it is cancer. I have no other symptoms no swollen lymph nodes in my neck or anything. I also suffer from health anxiety. Any info would be helpful!
Thanks for having the page and i hope to get some responces

Hi Liz1027, I echo what shirl has said, I think there's a fair few people on here with health anxiety so you're in the right place, Good luck with your appointment. Hagg.

Hello Liz

It might be a wart, etc. Sometimes to confirm the diagnosis, the ENT specialist might want to remove it for inspection (biopsy). Don't worry about this as it is standard practice. Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes

Hello Liz

There is a greater chance that it is NOT a cancer but everything that doesn't look normal MUST be checked. Meanwhile, relax. Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
