Hi Jane,
My name is Ananth. Unfortunately my net has been down for a few days but am back on line and this is my first message and all I can say is that Mike is a fighter and you are an inspiration - the two put together make a great team. I really wish you both the very best from the bottom of my heart as each one here does. I know words are not enough to vent ones feelings but at least we can try. I will be thinking of not just Mike but you too also. With love, Ananth Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal. |

Hi Jane
I live in Australia and my husband has recently been diagnosed with cancer. After three ops they are still unable to find the primary but he is due to start chemo and radiation in a couple of weeks. This is the first time I have been on this site (very internet/computer illiterate!) and have found the postings overwhelming. So many people dealing with so much and we're all blissfully unaware of it all until the dreaded 'c' word is raised in our midst. Good luck to you both, particularly to yourself. As partners of, we don't have the worry and distress of the cancer however it is so distressing to see the person you love battle to come to terms with the diagnosis and deal with the treatments, and not be able to do anything other than 'be there'. We have both been suffering separation anxiety since Trevor's diagnosis and don't like to be too far from each other. I can't imagine what it must be like for those who have to attend appointments/treatments etc alone ~ it shouldn't be allowed to happen so stick close to your man! I expect I will be checking the site frequently in the weeks to come and look forward to hearing that you are able to hang in there and that times aren't too tough for you. Thinking of you Deborah |

Hi Deborah,
I am in total agreement with you in regard to sticking around with one another and offering all the support your partner needs. I have been very lucky to have a fantastic wife who has been a pillar of strength and has taken so many things in her stride over the last seven years. You stick with Trev and help him through it and that is one of the biggest gift I think one partner can give another and especially to one who one have promised to be there for each other in times of good/bad,sickness and on and on... Take care, Ananth Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal. |

Hi Jane, tough times but plenty of support here. Dont neglect your own feelings tho',they're important too. Carers do tend to get overlooked sometimes. All the best to Mike.
12 years and still kicking it. |

Hello Ananth
There is no way that I won't be sticking around! Way too many years invested to back out now. We have had a whole week of 'normal' which has been lovely and everything since the 22 May (diagnosis day) seems like a bad dream and totally unreal. However the angst has been returning over the last two days with phone calls from the hospital re r/t and chemo appts and of course the PET/CT scan today. We'll soon be off to the war zone! The guys with the black hats had better watch out because us 'goodies' plan to win. Hope you're well Cheers Deborah |
