Just found this site with the help of Dr Vinod K Joshi (I went to his clinic today). Just wanted to say Hi, and hope that I can get comfort from others in similar circumstances. I was diagnosed with a cancer in my left tonsil about 8 weeks ago, and since then I have had firstly my offending tonsil removed, then following the biopsy a radical neck disection to remove Lymphs which were effected. I am awaiting Chemo-Radiotherapy which starts on the 19th October, for 6 weeks, which I must admit I am not looking forward too. However, if it gets rid of the offending little blighters, then it's worth it.

Well, that's all for now, I'm sure I will have lots of questions and concerns later, so please be gentle with me Smiler

How do you do and nice to meet you, Parky. Well aren't you lucky having Dr Goshi as your consultant! (I'd better say this as he will be listening)
Seriously though, welcome to this site which will, I know, become a great source of help and tips and shaRING, AND ALL THE THINGS FRIENDS DO FOR EACH OTHER. Including typing badly in caps and people not cari ng so you don't need to go back and change it.
I am Ishbel by the way, first diagnosed with laryngeal cancer five years ago, and not discharged 'clean' as I'd hoped in January and back to montjhly visits and the odd little investigative trip to the hospital.
The worst thing is the diagnosis I think. Once I got my head round that I have tried to treat it as a learning process and have found out a lot about myself along the way. Like suddenly finding jellied eels are the most delicious, digestible swallowable food ranking with corned beef hash and ice-cream with choclate sauce.
Good luck with the treatment, Parky. My son-in-law was a journalist with the Argus before coming down to London and meeting my daughter.
Warm welcome Ishbel
And don't worry. You are in great hands

Oh no. I've done it again. Dr Joshi. Not Goshi. Repeat ten times before writing another word!
