Hello all my names Rolf I’m 44 yrs old. I was diagnosed with Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) cancer in June 06. Within 3 weeks I was under the knife having the tumour removed. I still look like Rocky after his fight with Apollo (Rocky 1).
I’m still under going treatment Radiotherapy. I know eventually the physical scars will heal and you sort of get used to the embarrassment with people who do not know that I’m fighting cancer the swelling, or if my Lunch/drink starts to run out of my nose, but hell I’m still here fighting and kicking

HI Rolf,

It's amazing how quickly the NHS can work isn't it! Well done for finding this forum, there are loads of people here to share experiences with.

Focus on yourself for the moment, and ignore other people. Your recovery is most important, so keep on eating and drinking as it's critical to your recovery.

How are you feeling physically? Radiotherpay can be very tough, and can make eating and drinking difficult. If you have problems discuss them with the hospital staff who are treating you, but also let us know here, as we all have lots of helpful suggestions.

Good luck with the rest of your treatment

Jenni

Hi Rolf

From the content of your mail, I read that you have the correct attitude to be a winner.

You're young and still should look forward to MANY more years. There'll be ups and downs - but that would have been the case anyway (but obviously different ones Duh )

Positive thinking is always good.

Use this forum for support, advice and even use your own experiences to help others going through similar experiences

Hang in there - Pete

Hi Rolf,

Well done your post shows your resilliance
I know radiotherapy can be a tough time we are all here to support you and many members have such wonderful advice.

We have all had many similar experiences including the lunch drink spilling out of my nose.
Stay Positive (keep fighting with that Rocky strength you so obviously have)
