On March 16, 2005, I finished my final (33) radiation treatment for a cancer located at the rear of the tongue. I started weekly chemo treatments around November 21, 2004, and continued them until I finished the radiation treatments. I had a tube inserted in my stomach in February and had it removed last week.

After reading some of the posted messages I feel somewhat guilty that I have had a fairly easy time. My taste is back and I eat anything I want. I do have some difficulty swallowing but nothing I can't handle. I am still generating plenty of phlegm.

Ever since I was scoped a couple of weeks ago, my throat has been sore. I'm told this is normal and time will take care of it.

If there are any specific questions, I will try to get out an answer.

Do share with us your tongue cancer story. How did you discover the problem? Did you have any recognised risk factors? Any problems with the radiotherapy or chemo? Look forward to hearing it all.
