Introduction of my mother-in-law

My mother-in-law, who last year underwent surgery and radiation for mouth cancer, recently tried to join another website forum, but was rebuffed for her elementary computer skills--an odd and distressing reaction, in my opinion. So I'm trying to clear the way for her by finding a friendlier home, like this one (then I'll have to convince her to venture back on-line). She's really been hit hard with depression resulting from not regaining her sense of taste.

If anyone is willing to act as a sort of welcoming committee, let me know. My email is "JeffKaron@aol.com"--I'd be in your debt.

The site seems very helpful, and the comments generally friendly and encouraging.

Thanks.

Jeff

What a rotten lot! As long as she can write an email, tell her to try us, she will find lots of support here.

How small minded can some people be.

Fran and Shelley say it all.

What the hell have computer skills got to do with a message board for cancer professionals and patients.

People on this site might on accasions disagree with somebody elses views but that's only natural and to be expected.

Look forward to hearing from you.

I too am new to this forum and I have been met with nothing but kindness, caring, and most of all the willingness of the other members to help / reassure / and guide me ( as a neurotic wife at times!) in the right direction Smilerplease tell your mother in law that these members are wonderful and that the best forum was saved till last!
All the best

It would appear that we are all in the same boat & eveyone seems only too willing to help.Just to recap your M-I-L can contact any of us anytime, there`s no need to be afraid. If we all stick togetherwe can all help each other. John M., Bolsover, Chesterfield. U.K.

HI Like Hazel I have just discovered this site. I am 52yrs old, married (33yrs ) with 3 grown-up kids & 4 G-kids. I am finding this all rather daunting & hope that once I get used to it may be able to talk more openly. I am very shy at the moment but should "grow into it". You can read the rest of my profile on this page.

A lovely set of responses. My own mother died from cancer, so I find that I'm connected in more than one way to this forum. Even after my mother-in-law joins, I'll be hanging around myself.

Thanks.

Jeff
