Smilerhi you lovely peeps
sorry that i haven't posted for a while but i guess that i am still trying to come to terms with all thats happening to me.plus everytime i came on the site i would get frightened of the thought of what would be happening to me in the coming months or years (i am such a wuss)ok i had my multi disciplinary meeting with the head and neck oncology team at the queen alexandra hospital in cosham portsmouth and this how it all went.
firstly the tumour is a superficial lesion on the base of my tongue to the left side and has spread to the nodes in the left side and starting in the right nodes of the neck too.secondly this is the primary as there is nothing showing anywhere else so thats good news.they decided that treatment would be chemotherapy and radiotherapy combined so that was a bonus no operation (hopefully)as i had a gastric bypass last year and i hardly eat much due to my new small stomach, they have arranged with my bariatic surgeon shaw somers for him to fit me with a peg as soon as possible,as they dont want me to lose weight if possible.i started my chemo tuesday 6th, a mix of 3 types of chemo
when i find the paperwork i will be able to say which ones they are.i came out of hospital on saturday 10th with no appetite whatsoever and ended back in there on thursday due to constant nausea and vomiting and bad tummy(cant spell diawhatever)lol.came back yesterday with all controlled and eating for england(well sweets mainly) Red Face
well the large nodes in the left side of my neck have vanished Big Grin as from the 26th of this month i start radiotherapy,i have had my mask and bite made for me,all i could think of was hannibal lecter(is this what i look like?)trying so hard not to laugh.i have 33 sessions of this to go through and i guess this is going to be the most scariest and the most painful of the treatments,i also will be having more chemo every three weeks too.well folks thats my update.sorry i haven't posted for a while but i have been coming in as a guest and checking up on how your all doing.also many thanks for all your messages it is so appreciated.much love shirl xxxx

How long did it take from your diagnosis to the beginning of your treatment?
