Hi I have been coming on here for a few weeks now and have just got the courage to post, I don't really know where to start it's a long story! found lump on tongue about 4 months ago ,saw G.P and dentist who both said it was nothing nasty, that I had a cross biteand was biting my tongue, the jaw was hurting as well but as have TMJ I wasn't that worried, but over the next few weeks it got worse pain at back of tongue, now refered to hospital by doctor as she said there was an irregularity at the back, things just have got worse, lost alot of weight husband got me an appointment to see private doctor at hospital as I would have had to wait 4 weeks, he saw me 2weeks ago, checked my mouth and said no alarm bells were rining and it did'nt look nasty, gave me salagen for my dry mouth and nortriptyline for pain, i was on anti depressants. I am seeing him next tuesday , but it's getting worse can just about chew food, and the other side of my jaw and mouth are now hurting the same, I don't know what to think but I know all this waiting,if it's really serious it will be so advanced nothing can be done, my glands are up as well. sorry for going on but I didn't know what else to do.

Hi Patsy It is all very worrying -but you have had experts looking at you in the hospital. As this hasn't reassured you maybe you should look to getting a second opinion - if necessary go private and do it QUICK. You can't allow yourself to be getting so worked up about things.
Let us know how you get on please. cheers Tony K
