Hi everyone...I feel bad even taking up space on this site...but I am terrified! On Monday at 4:15 the doc is doing a biopsy on my tongue. Because I am a smoker (not for long) I am trying to be prepared for the worst. The "thingy" on my tongue is white, kinda like a canquor but its been there for almost a year. You are all very brave people and I would welcome any advice!

Hello Kelly

This site is here for you. So thank you for posting!

The fact that the white lesion on your tongue has been there for almost year means it isn't an aggressive lesion; that should be taken as a good sign. The biopsy is being done to make sure that it isn't a cancer and if so, to get it treated soonest. So try not to worry. Have a good weekend and let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
Vinod Coffee

As Dr. Joshi has said - if it's been on your tongue for a year and you have had no observable side effects you should be OK by a long way - no worries!
Do stop smoking tho'!
As for being brave - that's for people who have a choice not to be. I'm a grade A coward who has had no choice but to undertake this painful journey (many people on here are far worse off than me too!).
I have yet another "scare" to contend with - it terrifies me and my previous experiences don't make it any easier to cope with it.
Good luck to you anyway.
