I'm Jane.
I went to the dentist Tuesday of last week. She said that she was worried about a black mark at the back of my mouth and has referred me to an oral pathologist. I could not get an early appointment for an oral pathologist, so I'm seeing an oral surgeon on Friday next week. He can do a biopsy if he thinks it is necessary. As well as the black mark, the tissues on that side of my mouth seem puffier than on the other side: my cheek seems thicker and so do the tissues in my throat. Even so, I don't have any pain or bleeding, so I'm still hopeful that there is nothing serious wrong. But I'm also totally freaked out. I'm living in Alberta Canada at the moment, but I'm British and I could go back to the UK any time since I have a house and family there. In the worst case scenario, if I do have cancer, I'm wondering where I'd get the best treatment. |
