Hello

I am new to this forum so I hope I am going about this the right way.
I just wanted some advice really with regards to my father-in-laws throat cancer. He has already had his voice box removed but a recent scan showed that the cancer is still there. He has been having chemo with unfortunately has not shrank the tumor. He has basically been told that there is nothing more that they can do for him. Is this normal? should it not be down to the patient to decide if they want more surgery? He certainly does not want to give up just yet. Any information you can give me would be gratefully recieved. He is 56. Thanks.

Hello saffydora

Your father-in-law needs to speak to his oncologist about all the options available. You could ask for a second opinion.

Best wishes
