Hi all, I just joined and I'm not sure yet if I belong here. Been really worried over the past few months and especially the past several days over horrible pain in my mouth and throat. When I try to eat or drink it brings tears to my eyes. Been a smoker for 30 years and looked in my mouth - red but I'm especially worried over white patches in my mouth, between my upper molars, across the roof of my mouth. It's just so painful. I have a couple lumps in my mouth under my tongue &one at the back of my throat.

Sorry to sound like such a spooked neophyte, but my Mom died of CA, and the pain is horrific, so I'm scared.

I also have a nagging quasi-cough, clear the throat thing. I know I need to see a doc, but it scares me. Do you think I should?

Thank you.

Sandy

Welcome Sandy, You need to see a doctor for sure about the white spots and the pain. The cough, well girl it is time to put those cigarettes down, sounds like you have what is called a smokers cough. Please make a appt. to see a ears, nose and throat specialist, ENT, in your area...Keep us posted. Sandy you have already started to do what is the right thing, you held out your hand..Always, Vicki Lynn

Hi Sandy

Vicki's right, you need to see your doctor and make changes for a healthier life. If your mum died of cancer, alll the more reason to avoid a risky life style.

Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
Vinod :coffee:

Hi Paul, no I don't think that is what the doc is saying or that I was saying either. It is just that when you have someone so close to you pass away with cancer and here you are doing the very things that have a connection with getting it,, well perhaps you should not push your luck there...maybe just maybe you should refrain from these things. Just because a parent has or had cancer doesn't mean that you will have it, but leading a lifestyle without all the things that are to be the cause of cancer, would be a very very smart thing to do, wouldn't you say???? Always Vicki Lynn

Hey Paul, I daren't mention Guardian Angels if I were you - Ishbel might be listening, she thinks they are only on Golf Courses waiting to be hit by big scots women. Which is, incidentally, not me. I am a tall and elegant scots woman. I also kid a lot.

Cheers
