Hi,

The appointment went well and I am recovering as expected. I am going to have to be patient with the mucus as tha is my throat recovering. My mouh is recovering well.

I asked what are my chances and my Macmillan nuuse said very good and I am really considered cancer free now. I will be monitored for the next 5 years and if it doesn't return I will be the same as the rest of the cancer free population. I really needed some reasurance that this has been worth while.

Yesterday afternoon I saw the dietian for my area and was advised it could ake months to be able to eat again Banghead I am quite disappointed in this but accept it - especially after reading other peoples stories here.

I also saw my kids, mum & dad and friends yesterday which was great - but I was exhausted by the end of the day.

I thought I would feel quite bad today after yesterday, but I haven't - in fact I have managed to go out shopping for clothes (I am a woman) and other bits this afternoon. I has been a good day and I have also managed to cut out a couple of doses of morphine as I want to try and get my pain relief down a bit.

Hope everyone else has had as good a day as me.

Love to you all

Chloex

Hello,

PROGRESS! I have been sipping water all day! It hurts quite alot but the pain is tolerable. I guess this is a good thing to do. I have yoghurts waiting for when I feel up to it.

Been out and about a bit as well and am hoping to go home next sunday. I am trying to go out for "normality". After spending the first week in bed all the time - a walk round my Aunts village is great.

I am looking forward to getting back to my children and a normal life.

Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Love Chloex

Get on Chloe, you've definately got the right attitude to kick it in the ass. I rekon positive thinking makes such a huge difference. Cutting down on the morphine is a good move too but dont suffer too much with the pain, it can wear you down a bit. Well done with it all. Hagg.

13 years and still kicking it. Never give up your fight.

hi chloe
well done on finishing your treatments and glad that you are cancer free,i am also in that range have to be seen for the next 5years but 14 months out i am still free of this horrid disease.its good that you are sipping water you dont want to lose the ability to swallow,i did for a time and had to see a speech therapist and do some exercises.as for the eating it will get better with time i am managing a little bit of salad now a sandwich made with 1 slice of bread nuts etc it all helps.try some soup if you can manage it but make sure its bland i find that anything spicy really hurts my throat mouth and tongue.once again well done. love shirl xxx

Hi Purple, I've gone through the radiation and in time it gets better....don't rush it... you'll see something improve each day. Give yourself some time. My last treatment ended in June 06, I was "better/ recovered" by November, so please don't think you're not making progress...it takes a bit of time.

You have a great attitude.... drive on!!
