Hello all,

My name is Louise and I've just registered with the site ,however I've known of the site for a few years now as my husband RussW is a member and survivor.
We attended the MCF walk 2010 on Saturday and what a fantastic yet emotional day. Weather was great and I am a very proud wife. This is Russ' 4th MCF walk and I am amazed at the strength and positivity of other survivors and their families.
What a pleasure to meet Dr Vinod Joshi again!

Lou xx

Hi Lou

Welcome! As you're already familiar with our exclusive little club, the traditional orientation session and tour of the facilities won't be necessary.

One of the things that I find really wonderful about this site is that it's not just about those of us who've had cancer. It's also about our families and carers.

Julia

Hello Lou
Welcome.
I know exactly how you feel (I know you should never say that!). When I was at the walk last year, especially at the beginning before eveyone headed off, I felt as though there was an invisible thread joining all of those people together. We all had a connection and you knew to a greater or lesser degree, we all had a common experience and understanding of what we had each been through. Emotional?????? Oh, yeah!
Great that Russ is still out there surviving and making the most of life. Go for it.
Cheers
Deborah

Hi Lou,

Julia forgot to mention that you'll be spared the initiation ceremony which is just as well because I can't find that darn goat anyway.

Luckily you'll be spared. Didn't RussW tell you about it?

Cool
Aw thanks ladies for the kind welcomes.

Russ kept me informed of the MCF website but I thought after the walk .....I will join.
Shame about the initiation ceremony as i'm quite fond of goats, Lol x

Deborah I remember you starting the walk last year, unfortunately I'm unable to partake due to back problems ( last walk I did was Oct 2007), however I go to support Russ and fellow walkers.
