Ive recieved my biopsy results today. ive been told i have to have a biopsy every 4 months and appointments every 6 weeks.
the consultant has said there is normal and there is cancer he said im going down the line towards cancer which is not normal. my biopsy was taken on my vocal chords. ive been told they need to keep a careful eye on me. its a worry as i saw my gp before my hospital appointment today and he said all was fine, so i was expecting to go today and not have to go back anymore, so it was a bit of a shock. joanne This message has been edited. hi jojojo63
just go and have your checks as advised by your consutant for your own peace of mind, i had biopsies and checks for 7 years and unfortunatly erythroplakia turned malignant but with such a careful eye by wonderful consultants it was spotted in very early stage and treated by surgery i still have checks every 2 weeks at moment |

hi bev
thanks for your reply, after reading your message im going to go to each appointment. I was confused at first as my gp said everything was fine so i thought i was going to the hospital to be told the same, when the information came across different it was a bit of a shock. I was told i would need a biopsy every four months, and an appointment check every six weeks where they insert the camera through the nose. When i spoke to a friend she said she had never heard of anyone having to have a biopsy every four months. After speaking with my gp i thought i was having my last visit at the hospital so it did come as a shock to me. I see you live in Wales, my mother lives in North Wales, We only moved to Shropshire last September, i originally come from Shropshire so at the time it was a good move especially as all my family live nearer. My brother lived here where i am now, his wife left him and he could not cope as he is an alcoholic and she left leaving her son with my brother as well, his son is aged 12. When we moved in to help i looked after my brothers son full-time as my brother was always out drinking. I did everything i could to help him. I even got him through a detox programme which i was really pleased for him as it was successful. After his detox ended he left and went back to his wife, but he left a lot of debt to me and i found out he took loans out in my name also leaving me with a telephone bill of over a thousand pound, its been really difficult for me as im also registered disabled. When he left my mum and my sisters all turned there backs on me and said i should of helped him more. I helped him more than anyone could of done, so now im left without there support which is hard for me as ive always felt close to my family. Lucky for me i have a lovely daughter of 19, and three sons of 17, 12, and 9. my daughters answer to all thats happened is ( mum your familys with us ) she's right. regards joanne |
