I have been following the discussion since mid May when I learned I had a Branchial Cleft cyst, which was removed. Then there was squamous cc in the lymph node. Needed to find the primary so had my tonsils removed 6/16. Bingo squamous cc in both. Now on to 8 weeks of radiation and chemo. Wow what a month. I was never sick in my life! Still not ill but it is tough to suffer through the treatments.
I know it is one day at a time, but darn why does it have to have 24 hours.
Love reading the progress of others.

Hi JJ
Welcome to an "exclusive" club! Full of incredibly unique "members" who never really wanted to join.

The "branchial cyst" rears its head again. Was it really a branchial cyst or was it one of those diagnoses that's supposed to allay our fears?
I am interested to know if you suffered a spell of tonsilitis before your "branchial cyst".
I take it you have not had a radical neck dissection but have had a lymph node(s) removed.
If you've not needed the RND you have been fortunate.
The treatments are tough but time eventually marches on and you will develop a more normal life again. Don't forget anti-depressants if you need them.
Good luck to you and please keep us informed of your progress.

I too questioned the "cyst" diagnosis, but my ENT is sticking to it. I had no infection prior to the enlarged cyst.
