I think I must be one of the lucky ones, I was told I had a cancer in my soft palete near my tonsil on the left side. I went into hospital on 28th May had my op on 29th, but on the 30th there was a problem, which meant another op. Thankfully that went ok. I am now at home recovering slowly, but must be really lucky as have been told results are clear and do not need any follow up treatment just check ups. How blessed do I feel at the moment. My surgeon is fairly pleased that I have stopped smoking, only 6 weeks, but that is after 40 years

Good Morning Maggie, Pleased to hear your your progress report. Yes you are one of the lucky ones and it is good to see that you appreciate that. Your recovery will take time and there will be some things which will never be quite the same again but you sound to have the right attitude to cope with any changes. Giving up smoking was a smart move, now don't ever be tempted to try even one puff or all the effort you have put into quitting could be wasted. Nice to hear from you Maggie Keep Smiling John

That's good news Maggie. You must be well chuffed. Nicely done on the smoking aswell. I gave up about 16 months ago, only about 8 and a half years after diagnosis, beter late than never though 13 years and still kicking it. Never give up your fight.
