I discovered that I have a very small (less than 1/4 of an inch) bony lump in the roof of my mouth (about half inch from the last molar on my right side) about a week ago. It's very very hard, not sore, not discoloured. When I press on it, it feels sharp, kind of pointy. Can cancers feel as sharp and hard as a bone? I am very worried.

Hi Sally
Have you seen a dentist about it? That would be the best first step. My own cancer was in soft tissue, but it was fairly firm, not at all sharp. Dr Joshi would be the best person to answer your question. I hope everything turns out well. Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos! |

Hello Sally
It is probably part of your normal anatomy especially if it isn't getting bigger and isn't hurting, but do get your dentist to give you a proper diagnosis. Do let us know what he says.
