My problem is Bronchorrhea,I beat your say what's that? Well I get all the symptoms of asthma sevre tight chest cough wheeze short of breath and all the gunk like cystic fibrosis.Up until Easter04 it was call difficult asthma. Then my local hospital desided to sent me to Brompton London they had me in four to did loads of tests. Then came the news it's not asthma but we are not sure what it is.So I was take of all my treatments and given spiriva inhaler and calcium tablets because the high steroids had given me mild ostoprosis. Coming off steroid made me ache and I endded up seeing a physio.I already do chest physio twice a day.A Gp up my surgery let me try Atrovent inhaler 2puffs 4x a day I am now between 1 puff 3-4 times a day Christmas 03 I had been using it though a nebuliser. Then in one of my OP appointment I was told it was Bronchorrhea. When I ask what it is then It's like getting blood out of a stone. All I get is it's a symtom your glands in your lungs are over acting. But that dose not help me. I saw a diffent Doctor and he let be try cromogen inhaler 2 puffs 4x a day because I was getting a lot of probs.I was back up London about August and put on Atropine though nebuliser. 4x aday when I got a job it got in the way abit. So London and my Gp started down dosing. Now I'm on Mucodyne I've done 6wks 2,3x aday now I'm nealy in wk2 of 1 4x a day. please chat I fill like I'm in limbo. It would be good to hear from the Doc and any one I am now finding it difficult to talk to London as they only seam to want to know about asthma and my Gp can only do so much.

Hi Smiler

We are not experts on bronchorrhea, but i found interesting links below on bronchorrhea:
quote:
Bronchorrhea is defined as watery sputum of 100 ml or more per day seen in a small percentage of patients with bronchial asthma during attack. Bronchorrhea sputum differs from saliva in its chemical parameters. Bronchorrhea sputum exhibits parameter values intermediate between those of saliva and mucoid sputum. Administration of corticosteroid or an histamine H1-blocker has helped some asthmatic patients with associated bronchorrhea sputum during asthmatic attacks, significantly reduce the volume of bronchorrhea sputum.

Successful treatment of persistent bronchorrhea by gefitinib in a case with Recurrent Bronchioloalveolar Carcinoma: a case report

Successful treatment of refractory bronchorrhea by inhaled indomethacin in two patients with bronchioloalveolar carcinoma.

Hope that helps your discussion with your doctor.

Best wishes
