Hope your recovery is now going smoothly and your histology results were negative. Roll on 2012...let's hope it'll be a batter one for us both.

Bonnevilledaddio,
following my 6 weeks chemo/radio last year I had and still continued to have significant problems with plegmn. It does not help with Dry Mouth as you need the enzymes in your saliva to break the plegmn down to allow you to either swallow it or discharge it. I would suggest you contact Dr Niemtzow in Washington DC he would be the best to advise you on this matter. his website is www.n5ev.com Terry Gannon.

Listen, kiddo, it does not matter what you are going thru, it only matters what your response to it will be.
You have NO option, you MUST live thru this, you MUST recover function, you MUST continue your life.
Listen: Your mother did not go thru labor with you, just to have you quit now!
You have an OBLIGATION to carry on HER work, you have an OBLIGATION to your family, to show how STRONG you are!
Male role is to beat chest and yell loud.
Female role, is to propagate the Species.
You have children, show them HOW IT'S DONE!
You know you have few chances to be an Honorable Role Model for them, and for Hubby too.
LIVE LIFE TO IT'S FULLEST, that is the satisfaction every human attains to, and with this damned cancer, YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHINE MORE THAN YOU EVER HAVE BEFORE.
GOD Bless you, YOU, are a Golden Child.

68yo male, currently cancer free, loving wife, mee=2,OCC=0
live it, it's all you have.

Great posts SeattlePaul.
As from the movie "I'll have some of what your having".
Your profile shows you have suffered. So total respect.
I may have a new battle on my hands - need to take the bull by the horns if it comes to it.

Cheers and may good fortune continue to smile on you.

So sorry that I haven't been back in so long. I'm still here Smiler At this point I am NED (no evidence of disease) but, under very close watch. I still have extreme swelling in my throat and also a "suspicious" area close to where my cancer was. Sigh.
I still have a lot of tightness in my neck from the dissection and am struggling with a VERY hoarse voice that is always strained. The good news is that I can once again eat about anything that I want!

I have had a variety of other health issues in the past year which when added to 3 children and several other family members with cancer or serious illnesses equals very little time to be online.

dmills8 (or anyone else) you are welcome to email me at tcatt4@gmail.com if you had any specific questions. I would be glad to help in any way if I can. I am rarely online as our area has shoddy home internet service but, my email also runs through my smartphone so, I'm alerted of a new message.
Blessings to all
Tracy
