Hi Jason, that really is shite. You're right, the disease is so random.
I hope you're wedding goes well. It must be mixed emotions but at least you will have a loving wife to help you through your journey. I was diagnosed aged 28 and my son was nearly 11. I found so much strength through my wife when I was going through it. Hagg. At last, 11 YEARS and still kicking it. |

Hi Jace,
Oral cancer is not hereditary, from what I have read, so don't compare yourself to those in the family. It's a different battle. Congratulations on the wedding; enjoy please. This is what living is about. You now more than ever need to rejoice in your life and love. As the caregiver to my father in law, I can tell you that it is very important to have people there who are your champions, not the ones who cry and despair all the time. Ask your wife and those you trust to act as a shield against the drama queens and energy vacuums of the family so that you can focus on your family and treatment. Trust the ones who love you to handle what you cannot. Then, trust your doctors and keep fighting. Post mroe details of your condition and treatment-no- ask your family to do this if possible. We might have helpful suggestions. All the best and may god bless your wedding. |
