Do I have cancer ??

I am French-speaking, sorry about the words sometimes.

The top of my tongue (papillaes ? taste buds ?)
has been numb or half-numb (sore ?) for a week
(mostly from the tip to halfway back).
It does not seem to get any worse,
but now since this morning little white dots (tip-of-a-pen)
seem to be appearing at the tip of my tongue
(or maybe I pay more attention to the details now ?).
There does not seem to be any other symptom really,
but I've had a terrible gastro-enterite lately (at Christmas),
I couldn't even keep water and I've lost weight,
and I've been prescribed 2 drugs (apo dimenhydrinate & riva-dicyclomine).
I'm ok now and I've stopped the drugs,
but I have a wisdom tooth which is kinda rotten which has to be removed,
and yes I am a big smoker though lately I couldn't say I smoked more,
I would say I even smoked a little less than usual,
but I often miss brushing my teeth yes.
Now I am afraid. I can only see a dentist tomorrow at 3
and a doctor tomorrow between 8 and noon.

Has someone lived through much the same thing ??

I mean... the SAME SYMPTOMS ??

Welcome Nightman, Oh those symtems could mean anything. That is the bad part about this. You are smart tho to be going to the dentist and the other doctor. Please come back and let us know how you are doing and what the dentist and the doctor say. This is how we all learn and make others aware of this horrible disease. It doesn't really mean much to me anyway that you smoke, tho you should stop, because it seems that there are just as many people that have oral cancer that have never smoked a day in there life as those that have smoked all there adult life. I know there are some that will be upset at what I have just said. But I have been paying close attention to those who do smoke on here and on the USA cancer site. There is not much difference in the two..I will say this tho,,if nothing else this is your wake up call to put the DAMM things down.. Esp. if this turns out to be nothing.. You will then be given another chance with this. Try to remember how scared you were right now,,perhaps that will help you to put them down once and for all..It sure isn't going to help matters to continue....Try hard,,,,then harder,,then hardest that you have ever tried to do something...Miss Vicki

The doctor says this is not cancer, that it is not alarming, that it must come from viral source or medication source, but I will see the dentist in 1 hour. I can't wait for a second opinion...
My friend wants to stop smoking from his birthday onward (january 17th), and I just might do it with him along with my girlfriend, maybe. I had not smoked for 2 days cause I had no money. Now I smoked 2 cigarettes, slowly, and I bought some anti-cancerigen food, green tea, etc.

Ok the dentist says it is organic mushrooms,
it might be a reaction to previous medications too.
I have a new medication to take for 10 days then it should be gone BUT
some people live with it all their lives (I can live with it no problem).

Well, in 10 days, I'll know if this will stay or not,
and more, if this is cancer or not (but that seems not to be the case).

I want to say I understand the distress of people having cancer,
to some degree, and there are numerous other distresses in life too.

Sometimes, I would like to be available, if only to listen and/or talk,
for some people, cause I've felt alone a lot in numerous distresses
in my life (how do you feel when you call a help line and it's busy ?),
well, that takes time and energy, but if someone ever needs to talk some day,
and finds no one, well, you can always take a chance and write to me at first,
I just might have some time to devote to at least listening a little, and try
to find some kind of solution BUT I might get my internet cut off very soon
because of lack of money but I will get it back !

I guess I will have to wait that 10 days to be completely and 100 % reassured,
but that's not too bad right now...

Thanks and... I'd like to be there for some others as some others are for me sometimes...

About smokers and non-smokers...

Have you deduced that from every person
or only from persons on the net ?

Cause not everyone has the net...
or is listed on the net ?

Just asking...

I wonder, if someone already smokes, must he stop if he learns he has cancer ? I guess YES !
BUT since radiation kills cancerous cells along with healthy ones...
Doesn't cigarette smoke keep on killing cancerous cells along with others ?
and does stopping will make for proliferation of cancerous cells ? Food for thought.

My science teacher told us there are at least 1 radiaoctive substance in cigarettes.

From what I know, I believe him.
