Hi folks, about 4 weeks ago I started with a sore throat, within a further week Id caught a cold and all the symptoms that go with it. The cold went 2 weeks back but Im left finding it painful to swallow at times. Odd, but I can swallow food and drink without any problems, if anything it seems easier with them. Anyway, I visited my Doctor on Wednesday 2nd June and shes sending me to see an ENT consultant based on my answers to her questions. Subsequent to seeing my Doctor I believe I have found a small lump under my left jaw. What questions should I be asking of this ENT consultant who Im with next Wednesday (9th June). Any helpful advice is appreciated and possible clues to what the lump could be apart from the C word.

Ask the same ones who just asked on here. He will do the check-up and if he feels that there is something there to be concerned about he will tell you. I will pray that it is nothing maybe a swollen gland, yeah that sounds great to me, how about you. We will all pray for you, okay. PLease keep us posted on the visit. We are here for you, all of us,,we are here. Always, Vicki

Hello Simon

Vicki's right - you are already asking the right questions! A lymph node swelling under the jaw is most often related to a throat infection. So have a nice weekend and don't worry; it is sunny and warm in my area.

Best wishes
