Had Breast cancer 2004 op march rads april and may going great then came the double wammy I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THROAT CANCER IN OCTOBER 2008.In the tonsil. HAD AN OP ON MY TONSIL AND A SECOND OP ON MY NECK TO REMOVE ONE OF TWO ENLARGED LYMPH GLANDS ONE CANCEROUS THE OTHER DONT KNOW BUT WAS SRUNK WITH WITH RADIO THERAPY FOLLOWED BY CHEMO.I thought I WAS DOING OK THE USUAL DRY MOUTH, SORE THROAT, DIFFICULTY EATING, SWOLLOWING, EXAUSTED MOST OF THE TIME BUT WE PUSH OURSELVES DONT WE. Gradualy improving feeling hopefull then I have started to get swelling on my right cheek and under the eye had a CT scan and no tumor showed but have to wait to see my consultant after his holiday. Has anyone else experienced the same. If it had ocured straght after I would have thought it was from the radio therapy,but I am now 15 months on from that. Would be glad of any help. Judy

Hi Judy An anxious time for you. Double guessing certainly becomes the norm once you've had a trip on the cancer train. I hope all turns out well for you and that you continue to feel well regardless of the r/t 'souvenirs'. Take care Cheers Deborah

hi jude , im no expert but i had a lot of similer problems , even now i get swelling in the neck but i believe in my case this gets worst with stress, from listening to others i know that it takes longer for some of us to get over the treatment than others, but as long as we are getting better then im happy, iv no doubt some of the ladys will be able to explain it all better than i can. take care ,james.
Hi there! I had all my stuff on the left side. After 4 years- still wake up all swollen under left eye-it take a couple of hours to go down. Now have a little "pocket" that doesn't really go away.Hey-I'm still here and enjoyong life!
