Hello all, I am an Oral Cancer survivor living in Canada - born & raised in Britain. My last three month screening checkup at the Cancer centre was on Nov 22nd & there they decided to do another FNA on two nodes in my neck that have been around since September..the surgeon got only muscle tissue tho as the swollen nodes hid behind my neck muscle. Yes they are small(about the size of a pea) and are anterior lymph nodes. I am told to "wait to see if they grow" as they didn't want to "use me as target practise"...is this common procedure? I try so hard NOT to worry..but it's tough, knowing what I know and being a mother of three lovely children. Would a CT scan help as I don't enjoy the invasive procedures either? | ||

Hello Tia You need to ask your specialist about that. According to your profile, your tongue cancer diagnosed in Feb 2004 was SCC T1N0MO and treated by a partial glossectomy. So maybe that's why your specialist was prepared to wait as your cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes. Try not to worry, but speak to him/her.
