Hi Vinod,
Brendas words are so true. The "why me" syndrome is natural as cancer is not supposed to happen to me - its supposed to happen to the person sitting next to me. What I have done to deserve this? Why is life so unfair?. Everyone has these questions in mind and I do not think they will ever find an answer. I got cancer but guess asked myself maybe once or twice - why me - but then realised it was not worth doing that. The fact was that I had/have cancer and I have to live with it. Wishing that it should never have happened is something which has and the faster one accepts it - the quicker the recovery. A positive outlook and to look at cancer - Ok, I have got it - now what do I do. Its time to plan your future rather then mope all the time as you are just wasting you time on this earth (Just as Brenda puts it but in different words). I feel sorry for those who cannot get over the "why me"? syndrome and carry on moping even after a lot of time that could have been spent of doing things worthwhile.
Its very easy to cry and keep crying about how cancer destroyed ones self - but to face that it did what it had to and you overcome is a survivor. Thats my idea of connecting the "Why Me?" syndrome and the survivor bit.

Love,
Ananth
