Hey guys!
This week i've been feeling a real tightness in my chest, not out of breath or coughing or anything, just feels tight. So i was ab good girl and went to the doc this morning - not leaving anything to chance this time.
He examined me, listened to my breathing and applied some preassure to the muscle across my chest. He said my breathing sounded fine, but when he pressed my muscles it hurt. He then asked if i'd been lifting.;.. "just the 20kg sacks of food at work". & then he felt my shoulders, in response his face kinda looked like this ----> Eeker
He said my "muscles" were so solid they felt like bone! Good old R/T, leaving me with another little reminder! He thinks the muscles in my chest are having to compensate for the lak of movement in the shoulders. Sooo i'm gunna have pecks like Arnie! Big Grin
Got 10 days of anti inflamitries to help the tightness. But he asked what was i to do about the lifting. 8 stone girlies aren't built to lift 20kg.
Grrr

Thanks for listening!
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
Sorry to here about your pain and good girl for getting checked out. I too have compensation bone/muscle but mine are on my lower neck shoulder region. Think it's because I have to walk with a stick! I look like I'm pumped up all the time and yes it aches like mad sometimes. I know though that there is no way I could lift 20 kgs of food. are you Super Woman or what?
"Is it a bird, is it a plane? no it's Michelle!"
Get the bird and plane bit printed on the front of a T-shirt and the Michelle bit on the back.
You are an insperation and truly deserve the "Super Woman" title.

Michelle,

Your said you wanted to raise awareness in your age group. How about this: When I first joined, I read your story, from memory it was a couple of paragraphs. Since then, I have read your postings and responses, each one giving a more in depth narrative than you gave in your initial ‘my story’. If it were all pieced together, right from the 18 month before diagnosis it would make one hell of a read. I am sure with some help (not just because your brain goes faster than your typing Big Grin!) You could get your story published and that way achieve the awareness you’re looking for – and get famous!

ps : We know practise makes perfect but just keep practising till you get the dog parlour going.

Hi Michelle
Boy is this going to be an adventure, I have only just joined this Forum and have already been contacted by the Doc and others and feel as if it is an exclusive club, OK where was I Yes Michelle you inspire and obviously others with your approach to the RT/Chemo treatment and as i am just starting down that road with my first eppisode on or about the 24th of July some of my anxieties and concerns are faiding.
Thankyou
Trev

Ananth... such a gentleman... as always!

Susie... Not super woman, STUBBORN women i think is more accurate! Big Grin

Angie,
I did actualy start to type my whole episode down. My bosses hubby is friends with a publisher and he said he'd help out. So you know it isn't a bad idea at all! Great minds and all that!

Trev,
It isn't easy and it isn't fun and there were times when i thought i'd never have my life back... BUT i'm there now. I'm really well and really happy! Keep your self motivated, eat well and as they all say "stay positive". I'm here if you need a chat!

Thanks all,
Michelle

Hey you two!
Was out last weekend actualy! Dancing the night away! & it's so much better with this no smoking ban in place, as my throat used to get so raw! Problem now is you can really smell the loo's and stinky B.O. men!

Hi David and Sue,
Let me not put my thoughts down here as I have this strong feeling I would be blasted out by the lovely 'chicas" ( including you, Sue) - right out of the site. I am tempted but dare not as I have realised it best to keep quiet and run away and return fresh to fight another day.
Lots of love to both of you. I really enjoy every post both of you put together and its the bond between you two that makes world go around. Just be there for all of us as we are here for you.

Lots of love.
Ananth

No, not ALL men...
Just a good fair few that need to be introduced to deodourant & the lack of cigarettes REALLY emphasises that! Wink you don't look like a smelly man Dave! My theory is it's just the single ones that stink cuz i would NEVER let Amir go about ponging! Big Grin
