Hi Paul, I've been wondering that too. Maybe everyone's hibernating untill Spring! How are you, got your suitcase packed yet?, Make sure you have the correct type of Passport or the American customs may not let you in!

Hi Paul,

Quiet it is! I am delighted to hear you are off for a holiday to the States shortly. I have been over here from UK for some 5 weeks now and return to UK on 21st February for my next medical check up on 1st March.

If all goes well at that checkup I hope to return yet again to enjoy the delights of California. I find the 10+hour journey a bit of a drag but it is worth it thereafter.

Las Vegas is like no-where else! Enjoy.....
Regards, Fridge

Just had my 3 monthly check up today and I get uptight before it for a few days -- as you well know we all do. Hate that scope but bless it too.

Paul,

My initial response. I have visited LV three times. Each time I have been unable to take everything in. The place is out of this world, spectacular structures almost beyond belief. Do not worry for a moment about gambling to fill in time, it is not necessary. But do enter the gambling palaces (as I'm sure your hosts will arrange) as these places are marvels to view in themselves and one must view the gambling areas.

I am so pleased that you are visiting there as I am sure you are in for a much deserved treat. While I, by my nature, would not wish to live in LV I admit readily that it is a wonderful place to visit. For me, each visit was an 'out of body' experience almost.

Note: What lovely people your hosts are. I'm sure you will enjoy their company and LV.

Enjoy, regards, Fridge

Hi Paul,

Las vegas is wonderful. Although in the past it may have had a poor reputation as a place of mafia associations, it is now a clean, family orientated delightful city. It is full of fun and good humour with most people you may meet being visitors out to enjoy themselves.

The town authorities have pulled out all the stops to make the city safe and enjoyable for all visitors and, as I am sure you will observe, they have been successful.

As the saying goes: 'America and Britain are two countries of great similarities separated only by a common language'. Or something similar. Have no concern about language differences, any I have come across are usually quaint and amusing. None embarrassing.

The city (better termed a resort), particularly the golden mile, is designed to let people enjoy themselves and they have certainly been successful as visitors return time and time again. When you visit, just relax and take in the wonderful sights. I am sure you will enjoy it all and have a great time.

My visits were with friends but I am sure I would feel safe on my own.

Regards, fridge

WinkHello everyone, have been out in the countryside for two weeks taking out my anger with a chain saw, Great, back in London and feel down, by just looking at the motley crowd of people. Have just had first guest to Lunch, Big Larry op in 1997, so at least the menu suited us both, trying to lay off the double cream, but it is a great help at getting stuff to slid down.Hospital on Thursday and am praying don't have to have the optique fibre light down the nose as it kills me, praying news will be good.

Hi GaranceI had my 6wk check up last Friday and yes it was the fibres up the nose! But it was good news and I guess its the only way to tell whats going on down there. I must admit to having some help with the procedure! My GP has given me some Lorazepam 1mg tablets which I only take if I am facing a situation which makes me feel very anxious. I took 1 Thurs night and 1 Fri morning and I was so calm while he did it he could have a proper look without me gagging and pulling away after 30secs.
