Today is the Feast of St. Blaise, one of the healing saints with a special patronage for the throat. He is our patron, until someone makes a better suggestion.

I'm going to mass today to get my throat blessed, and celebrate two years survival from my cancer diagnosis. It was approximately 2/3/2004 that a doctor told me I had malignant tumors on my tonsil and lymph node, and two years later here I still am, healthy and strong.

I wanted to take Doug to mass to get that done but I couldn't get out of work on time! I did, however, get him a St Blaise medal..along with St Peregrine (Patron st for cancer patients). Can't hurt!!!
