Hi Everyone
I have undergone surgery for tongue cancer and two lymph nodes followed by radiation therapy of 39 days. I have lost more than 15Kgs weight.I finished my radiation on 16th march 2005.I am able to have only blended food and liquids.I just wonder how long it takes to come back to normal eating pattern.I am otherwise quite positive and doing well on the recovery path.

Hi Anil, as you are no doubt in great pain, try to eat easy foods which are very bland, rice cooked slowly in milk, porridge, and things that are not slaty or too sweet; be careful with juices as some can be very smart and will hurt. Keep drinking loads of water all day and night, to help the swallow reflex. I am now 18 months after two operations, still unable to have any spicy foods.
