At last, I've got there. 11 years and still kicking it.
On 18th September 1997 I had my first op after diagnosis. They cut everything out and even though I had more ops and RT, I consider the first op the one that got rid of the cancer so thats the date I use. To everyone on the forum who is suffering, I would say hang in there and never give up hope. Hagg. 12 years and still kicking it. |

hagg that's great news and does give me hope, which i occasionally lose!
thanks for the positive post. i have had op on my togue and chemo/rt which finished on 7th july. I'm still suffering with swallowing difficulties and have an ng tube up my nose for feeding. I have my appointment with the consultant on october 9th where im praying for an "all clear". thanks again, you've given me hope and plenty others i'm sure. gordon gordon You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing |

Congratulations, Haag!
I admire not only your tats and the great relationship you have with your wife, but also the way you continue to post giving hope (and humor) to newbies and their caretakers. By the time I have 11 years I'll be so damn old that I won't remember what I'm celebrating. Shoot me an email though - you'll still be around to remind me. Mimi |

Cheers everyone. I'll hang around for at least another 11 years and hope I inspire a few more
I would have taken a lot of comfort from talking to a long term survivor when I was at my worst, so if I'm helping then that's cool. Hagg. 12 years and still kicking it. |

Hi, Hagg,
Congratulations and well done to you. Your positive attitude and helpfulness is, I am sure, appreciated by so many visitors to this site. Have you marked this in any way - new tattoo perhaps? Best wishes Sue |

Hi Sue, I've had a few more tattoos recently but I haven't had one to celebrate yet. I'm working on it though
