hi all
had my final checks done yesterday, cant say it was the most pleasant experience ive ever had!!! today i had the first of 20 RT,s.it was all over and done with much quicker that i thought it would be. im sure its just my imagination but ive had such a dry mouth since this morning and just dont feel quite myself.ive probably read so much about side affects that my mind is playing tricks. i get very panicky and tense whenever i have to go to the hosp. today was a little better because they cut the eyes out of my mask which helps a bit. i have to say all the RT staff so far have been so kind and helpful and try to help me to relax. my hospital offers a lot of complimentary therapies and im going to take advantage of some of these to try and chill out a bit. anyway im going to eat a curry now!!! while i still can!!! stay well everyone. chat soon. love christine xxx |

Hi Christine, I like your news. I am 10 into 34 sessions, and have developed thrush in my mouth, and I in a fair amount of pain now. So whatever you do keep that mouth wash and salt water flushing regular.
Here's to the future. |

Well done to you as well Nigel. I used salt water alot during my RT.I carried it around in a flask with a plastic cup so I could wash my mouth wherever I was. Are you on any painkillers now? I asked for them quite quickly - I was surprised how quick everything went - pain, not able to eat, drool (mucus), not able to swallow.
On the plus side I finished just over 3 weeks ago. I still sleep alot but last night managed 2 3 hour streches of sleep (my final and just after rt I managed 30mins to an hour). Also my drool is clearing up nicely. It's still there but nowhere near as bad. Be stroung both of you. You can do it! Love Chloex ***Keep the faith*** Grow old disgracefully ;-) |

Hi Christine, I've finished 16 out of 35 rts now. I also felt as if I suffered from the very 1st one. Don't discount your symtoms. If they're real to you, then they're real! Every rt will take a toll on your body, and some days will be better than others. You just need to stay strong! Physically as well as Mentally!!
Hang in there Girl!! You can do it! Cricket |

Will you all hurry up and finish your treatment. I have ordered fresh curry in India - the original stuff and not what those NRI's(Non Resident Indans) call the same. Its on the fire slowly cooking just waiting. So hurry up!!!!
Lots of love, Ananth Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal. |

Graham had his first of 30 RT's today, couldn't have his chemo as his white cells too low. They have given him permission not to shave! RT and chemo tomorrow, woo-hoo! Bought E45 on way home from work will start to nag him to apply in thick layer. Didn't sleep terribly well last night in anticipation so hopefully we will both sleep well tonight. Keep all news coming, it's reassuring to hear of others going through same as us.
Hugs Joanne x |

Gosh it's hard isn't it! Sick and tired is how Graham is feeling now. Not quite sure how he is getting to hospital tomorrow as really quite sicky. I'm sure it'll sort itself out. Chloe good luck for getting back home, I'm sure you'll be ok and glad to be there. Not sure how to help my man at the moment he is suffering with very bad hiccups, any ideas??
Hugs to all Joanne |
