Blocked saliva gland?

Hello Everyone. I'm almost 3 years on from end of treatment for SCC of tonsil, but I have a worrying symptom and wonder if anyone else has experienced it or if it is something I really need to worry about. I have noticed that lately when am eating I get a swelling which comes up very quickly on my RH side of neck (opposite side to the area of treatment) it is just at the point where my ear mets my neck. when I have finished eating it very quickly subsides, but it hasn't gone away completely. Could this just be a blocked saliva gland? and what should I do? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Rosie

Hi Rose, dont know what that could be but someone here will. If it's worrying you though, go see your dr, it'll give you some piece of mind. Hagg.

Not quite such a long time to wait, ideal. Maybe it will have sorted itself out by then but if not, at least your consultant will be able to help. Hagg.

Hi! Rose,
A little massage of the area sometimes reduces the amount of swelling and a glass of Ice Coffee by your side helps with the loss of saliva,
Good Luck

I had this happen to me and it hurts. Look into the inside of your cheek and you should see a white place where it hurts. Push on the outside of your cheek until the white thing pops out and the saliva will start running. It will look like a piece of rice.
