I think there defintiely needs to be a shake up at Macmillan with their Head and Neck cancer support from day 1.It seems to be very hit and miss which is wrong. The day you are told you have cancer, the most terrifying day of your life you need help then and for it to continue,it just doesn't seem to be happening.I also wasn't told about alternative therapy until a friend of mine who has sadly now passed away due to this horrid disease, told me about our local hospice.I had to go to my doctor to be referred for this, again I had to ask,it should be given to everyone not those who ask.Once I was going to St Lukes in Winsford I've been offered alsorts ot treatments.I've been pampered with refexology, reiki, makeovers sessions and the best yet....hypnotherapy-absolutely fantastic. It certainly helped me through some bad times and I was quite sad when they all came to an end when I went back to work. However my hypnotherapist phoned me recently to ask if I wanted a few top-up sessions to help me again.I jumped at the chance and already felt better after one session.I suppose its what you believe in and whatever it is,it doesn't matter,if it helps.I just wish all this extra help is given automatically on day one, thats what gets me very very angry!
