Hi everyone, well I must say it's been a very quiet site lately.
I am recovering from having a cold, I seem to have had it for weeks. Its as if every bone aches and my legs feel like lead.
When I had my surgery my lymph nodes were removed and I was told this is what fights infection (is that correct?),well that seems to be as I cant get rid of it.
I had 2 gigs last week, second one was a bit of a challenge for my voice as this cold was hanging over me. I managed but come sunday I had no voice at all and could only manages a whisper. So reluctantly I have cancelled this Fridays booking, but kept Saturdays. I am really angry at having to cancel as I don't want to let people down, and the way I see it, it is one less gig before my radiotherapy.
I have an appointment witht my consultant on Monday and then my mould appointment is on the 23rd,(not looking forward to that one as I have heard so much about it!)

Anyway just thought I would say hello to you all and keep posting, It gets quite lonely on this site at times.

Hi Tracey, I doubt if anybody can tell you for certainwhether or not the radiotherapy will affect your voice.

I get really embarrassed saying that I had absolutely no side effects from radiotherapy when I know other people on this site have gone through hell after the treatment.

All I can do is try a pray that things aren't too bad for you and that, eventually, you'll be back in full song.

Hi Pikeman

I hope so too, strange and hard to believe but this is my biggest worry. I can't understand the way my mind is working, I think I am blocking out the truth of what is really happening, It will probably kick in when I am actually going through the treatment.
I have been told that the larynx WILL be damaged but they don't know how badly.
Who knows it may even improve my voice!

Once again thanx for the reply

Best wishes
Tracey

Tracey I forgot to say not to worry about the mould. I am the worst claustrophobic in the world and it was really fascinating and very quick. I just imagined that they were doing it for Madame Tussauds.
Well if Madge (queen) can do it so can you8! It helps when the person applying the gunk is a champion cyclist as mine was and had the most shapely calves you've ever seen outsde the farmyard! Ishbel
