Hi meg

See your dentist. If necessary, you will be referred to the local maxillofacial unit for a biopsy. What you you describe could be a minor salivary gland cyst, a fibrous nodule, etc. Cancer in the lip is quite rare in the UK!

Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
Vinod :coffee:

Dear Meg, Pleae go and get it checked out
We unfortunatly to our cost found out later rather than sooner (well some of us)
It was my Dentist whofirst alerted me to the problem I had been going to my GP for months and saw different Doctors but none picked up it could be Cancer.
PLease get there soon.
If your in London go the the Maxiollfacial Unit at UCHor phone they will give oyu a quick appointmnet.

I hope you are ok but better safe than sorry.

Results of test:
The dentist called yesterday to tell me to go see him, a cancelled oppointment. On examining the lump in my mouth, Thankfully he was not concerned at all. He told me the soft tissue was in good order and he was confident it is nothing more than a blocked s/duct.. he did however tell me he will be keeping an eye on it for any changes. Nothing more will be done, he says it will probably always be there. Thank you so much Dr Joshi, Vicki & Paul for you kind word and advice..Keep up this wonderful site...thanks Meg
