Hi all,

I have just spoken with Liz and she has asked me to let you all know that Rob has only a few weeks, not even months. The cancer is back, is aggresive and has spread into his lungs as well as back in his face.

Liz is being brave and I am delighted to say that Rob and Liz are reconciled and Rob has asked Liz to take him back to Yorkshire for the end. Liz will arrange for his palliative care to be transferred when they are ready to come home. Rob's request has been as a salve to Liz whom we all know was riddled (unnecesserily we agree) with the guilt of leaving him to this terrible illness. That reconciliation is an answer to all our prayers.

Obviously Liz will be preoccupied for the foreesable future: the aim being to get back to Yorkshire but not with indecent haste for ends need tying up first and Rob will have to say his goodbyes to his own family before they head north.

Liz thanks us all for our support and will, when she can find the time, thank us all directly but thought you would be anxious to know what happended today as we all know that she has been with Rob since Tuesday.

I pray God's grace and blessing on both Rob and Liz and rejoice that Rob's remaining days will be lived within the warmth, care and protection of Liz's infinite love. And may God bless you all too for your support for them both.

Alan

It hurts and hurts really bad when one of us suffers. Its as though it is a part of us that is hurting and I feel really bad for all that Rob and Liz have gone through. I wish them the very best from the bottom of my heart and wish there was something more I could have done to ease the pain a little more.
Take care of Rob - though thats hardly worth mentioning as you are one in a million who has stood by him like a rock through all his ups and downs. I am sure everyone here is proud of you and so am I.
Lots of love,
Ananth

Oh Ananth
for the first time in the last few days i nearly let the tears fall.what a sweet and wonderful message. To all of you thanks so much and to alan a special thanks for being the best friend a girl could have.
My dear husband is very ill.His tumour has returned and broken throught the side of his neck, his it has spread up his face which is now swollen hugely. He has multiple tumours in his lungs and the vague suspicion of some new activity in his brain.

he is facing this all with a calm dignity i didnt know he was capable of although the bright stare of fear is often with him.The macmillan team are in place and visit the house several times a day although he remains well enough to sit in the lounge and have an occasional beer, and has been seeing friends and family as he feels up to it.
On saturday we take the last steps in our journey together when we return to our home in yorkshire to spend his final days together in peace.

god bless you all and may you find the strength to carry on with your fight against this b****** disease
Michelle how is the practising going?

Dear Liz,
I can understand what your feelings must be at this very moment and those to come. Rob has been a tough nut to crack and especially when he knows the facts and yet enjoys his ocassional beer. I know this does not sound very plesant but Rob must have finally realised that he was going to a lovely place and had enough of suffering both mentally and physically. All I can do is wish him a happy journey and with the hope that we will meet again in a different time and place.
My thoughts are really overflowing as I think of you as I compare you to my wife and know excatly how she feels about me. Like I said you were and are one in a million and even more. I know its easy for me to say dont shed tears on his departure but be thankful that he has had a wonderful life with a wife like you beside him. I am truly sorry if I have said anything harsh or hurt you in any way - it was not ever intended to be that way. May his final moments be really peaceful. Please do keep hugging him and telling him just how much you love him.

With lots and lots of love,
Ananth
