Hi, I also had a trawl to find insurance (surgery Dec 06, end of radiotherapy/chemo March 07) for our holiday back in June. In the end, got insurance with AllClear Travel - it was of course more expensive than I've ever paid before, but less than I'd feared. I think it was about £180 for myself, husband and daughter. Just looked at the policy and they covered cancellation if needed due to my illness plus the usual cover. Did the application on line and the paperwork came through the post. I don't work for them,no advertising intended just thought this might help!! Hope you enjoy a great holiday Georgia

Sooooo frustrating! A good holiday is just what us cancer patients need after all that horrible treatment. Infact - I think we should get our holiday insurance c/o the NHS -~*Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds*~- ...Albert Einstein

David, Have you tried the post office. They have a standard policy and will insure you for existing medical conditions seperately. We can't apply online, but if you start the process online then you can find the number to ring to answer some questions on your medical condition. I just went to Jersey for a week, and the insurance was £30 for three of us, with an optional extra £12 to cover my existing medical condition. As I only applied for the insurance a week before we went, I didn't take this option. If I needed to see a specialist, I coud have phoned and booked the appointment and I probably wouldn't have got an appointment until I got back.

There was a piece in the Telegraph called “Too Sick To Travel"
Insurancewith are supporting various charities through the sale of insurance products under the insurancewith brand. They donate £1 for every travel insurance policy purchased from them. They also and possibly more importantly offer travel insurance to people suffering with pre-existing medical conditions at highly competitive premiums. Link: Single Trip travel insurance Insurancewith isn't the only specialist company. Those with serious medical conditions should also consider contacting Insurepink, Free Spirit, All Clear Plus, Freedom Travel or It's So Easy. Please do get several quotes from different insurance companies and get the best value for money cover you can.
