Hi Liz,
I don't think I've chatted to you yet. Krishnan has been good enough to download my latest photo. (Is that a messed up face or what?) After my first operation and while in hospital my face became infected and opened right through to the mouth. I had a second operation to fix it but unfortunately it broke down again when I had been discharged. I was left with a gaping hole for months, right through the jaw and into the mouth cavity before I went back in and had another operation to fix it. It took seven weeks before I could take any liquid without it pouring out the side of my face. Since then I have had a small infected fistula but thankfully it healed without going through to my mouth again. It may take a long time for your hubby to heal but it is possible. I found it so frustrataing not being able to take any liquid at all but it is important so the wound heals. The cosmetic result might not be the best, I have been asured though that remidal surgery will improve how the wound site looks.I've been through it, so if you have any questions fire ahead, I'll help if I can.
