Hello,

Just to give a bit of backround. I am a 34yrs old married female who is due for baby #2 in 2 weeks. I quit smoking about 6 years ago. For the last month or so I have had a sore throat. I have not recently had a cold. I feel a lump when I swallow at the bottom of my palate in the soft part of my throat on the left hand side. I seen the doctor about 2 weeks ago and he did a throat swab for infection which came out negative. Recently the back of my tongue feels numb and I experience a bit of burnging. Today I noticed white bumps on the back of my tongue. I have another appt. with doc tomorrow. What should I ask him to check for?? I am just really scared that whathever I have could affect baby. Pls advice.. thank you.. Joanne

Joanne Please be sure to get proper tests done and don't be fobbed off, I saw seven doctors before they worked out what was wrong, it may be a minor thing, but as you have a baby due you must be sure and get it sorted asap. and please keep us posted.

Thank you so much for the responses. I seen my doctor yesterday and he said that he cannot feel a lump and took another swab. I did insist that he refer me to someone and that I known that this is not normal. He said that after the baby (due in 2 weeks) he will refer me. He said that 2 weeks should not make much of a difference. uggghh... I just wish I wouldn't have this to worry about. Thanks again..
