Hello you guys!
Had my EUA yesterday & t hey decided to go with the biopsy after all.
They had a real good poke and prod and found just the one area of concern. It's on the right (my original tumour was on the left). The ENT surgeon said that it was flat and smoothe (i had undiffrentiated NPC whioch means its the most unlike the regular tissue as it can be - so not likely to be smoothe) & he said generalt with these tumour they rupture and bleed at the slightest touch and this didn't. He said obviously he can't say yes or no until the histology is back in 2 weeks. But he said it didn't look or behave like a tumour. So i'm definately more encouraged than i was last week!
The main issue was with the breathing tube and my mouth not opening very wide. As they inserted iot they ripped a bit of tissue so the bit that hurts the most is in my throat. Back on the soft creamy foods until that heals i think!
The GA wasn't so bad! In fact it was over before i'd realised i'd fallen asleep! One minute i was chatting away, and the next i was opening my eyes in the recovery room & i said "Oh, i've moved" The nurse with me said "sorry??" & i said "you've moved me!" Roll
Eyes I didn't realise it was all over! *lol
When i arrive back on the ward poor Amir looked horrified at my face! I had blood round my lips, blood from my nose and down my chin. I think i looked like a vampire! I went back to sleep and then we spent the rest of the afternoon trying to bring my temprature down. For some reason it hovered around the 37.9 mark. They let me home anyway and i stayed at my dads last night as it's nearer Haywardsheath Hospital.
So now i have to wait 2 weeks for the results.
I'm not overly worried. I mean my original tumour was on the left hand side not the right. & tumours aren't smoothe and conformist.

Busy week next week, my boss is on holiday and i have the shop to run. So i'm off work til friday. So sleepy from the GA & i've had a bit of an upset tummy.
Good to be back though.
The South East Today interview went well for the BBC. That should be shown this week i think.
Love to you all,
Michelle

HI Chelle,

Lets hope the histology confirms the anticipation and that you can properly relax again. I am so very pleased however, Doctors are such pessimists they will never give hope where there is a chance of failure, so I am optimistic because your guy said all he did.
Get some rest now and enjoy the weekend before getting back to the daily slog. Alan

Thanks you guys!
I'm off to bed now for a couple of hours sloeep before Amirs back from work.
I think carbonara's on the menu tonight, soft and creamy to be gentle with the sore bits!
As you say Alan, the doctors are usualy pretty realistic to cover their backs so we don't sue them when they're wrong so he does sound encouraging!
Will catch up with you all tomorrow!

Michelle x

Hello Michele

Good to hear your surgeon's optimism, its as good as can be. You now need to rest and mend. Get well soon.

I was in Barcelona Cool for a meeting over the weekend and tagged on a couple of days annual leave to sight-see and by coincidence caught the Barcelona La Merce Festival - outdoor bands, parades and fireworks and street dancing every evening for three days in a row! You can catch the great atmosphere at youtube.com. The weather and food was great too. And entrance to all museums were free on the Monday, a public holiday but only had time for a visit to the Picasso museum.Big
                     Grin

Yes I highly recommend visiting Barcelona over the Merce Festival time. Unfortunately, my Spanish/Catalan is zero and most people didn't speak English but I had a great time!

Best wishes
Vinod Coffee

Hey Michelle,
What do mean blood everywhere and you looked like a vampire? Why do you think we get on so fine - it takes one to recognise another!!!( My pet name is "Blade"). I am really glad things have turned out right and you are back. Everyone was missing you - but that hardly needed to have been said. I think all you ladies on this site are just wonderful - beyond words and I am proud that I know all of you'll even though it only through the site or emails. The guys are full of encouragement and even their discomfort they try and comfort the others.
I am bit worried about that upset stomach and you know why......!!!!Smiler Wink. Just make sure you are not "running" when you go back to work!!!
Love you,
Ananth

Hey you guys!
Ananth... I wont be going into work until thats all settled!
Had some blood coming down from up there this evening. I expect some of the crustyness is dislodging itself. Not nice! Leaving a little trail of bloody tissues wherever i go much to Amirs disgust!
Dr. Joshi i'm so jealous! You know what they say about all work and no play!
I'd love to do a few city breaks, Barcelona, Venice, Paris etc. Maybe next year? Thinking
Thanks Mum, Hagg & Ange. Off to bed again!
x

Michelle,
Do think about a break to go toBarcelona - my second home.It will be fun and all your frustrations and problems will vanish. However make a trip in the summer months where the beaches are lovely and the crowd is fantastic. Barcelona is a city that never sleeps and and am sure you will enjoy it throughly. In case you do decide to go across, do let me know as I have have a "very special" guide to take you around. I could get her to also put you up as the house still belongs to me even though I gifted it to her along with my other assets.
Love you.
Ananth
