Hey guys!
So three years ago today i was having my last cycle of chemo and starting my radiotherapy... Wow...Three years!
It seems like a life time ago and in other respects it seems like just yesterday!
My life now is everything i could have wanted! I'm engaged to my partner of 8years. I have a very successful business (2years old from the 1st Nov so November is a big month for me). I have my health and couldn't want for more.
I think going through the cancer nightmare gave me the drive, ambition and love for life i have now. Cliche? Perhaps?
I some ways i feel lucky that i got the wake up call while i'm young. To face all that at 22 and go on as i have with a new take on life.
I don't know why i'm one of the lucky ones that gets to live my life - but i'm thankful for it and apreciate it and never take it for granted!
I make the most of everything i get!

I know there are many people out there right in the thick of it all, not being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But cancer doesn't always end in death and loss and dispair.

Sorry for the soppy post!! lol

Michelle x

HI Chelle
What a great, positive (soppy!) post. Well done to you. A great thread of hope for newbies to hear of such success stories. No doubt your 'normal' is altered from what it used to be but you have adapted and gotten on with the important stuff. You go girl!
Three cheers to you
Love

Congratulations Chelle!

Today, I saw an 86 year old woman in the clinic.Wink

She had her mouth cancer in her lower jaw 30 years ago and then had breast cancer soon after that. Wow

And she is still here giving me a headache on how to make her lower full denture comfortable. Smiler

May you make 86 years too,Big Grin
(and bother another dentist!Thinking)

Best wishes

Hi Kenny

Thank goodness for the 90 year old lady I saw today who had mouth cancer 15 years ago (she only had local surgery with left side neck dissection; she declined radiotheraphy that was offered). She manages to eat most things without a lower denture. She is just happy that I made her a good retentive upper denture! Smiler

I have decided I can still make a living being a dentist! Lol

Best wishes

Well done Chelle - and what a great post.
I haven't been on here for a while and was almosy in tears when I read Ananths mum's post - then to come and read yours, then Ananth's 2nd post. Life can be great.

Oh and by the way, Dr Joshi also has to put up with my 79yr old mum giving him a hard time (mind you, she has a harder time I think Smiler)
